Hero MotoCorp has announced a price hike in its two-wheeler range by up to Rs 1,000 to offset the increased cost of raw materials and manufacturing. The company revealed in a regulatory filing that it is revising the ex-showroom prices of its two-wheeler range, comprising both scooters and motorcycles, upwards. The increase will be effective immediately. “The price revision is required to partially offset the impact of cost inflation,” it said, adding that the increase “will be up to Rs 1,000 and the exact amount of the increase will vary by model and market”.
Hero MotoCorp retails a large number of motorcycles and scooters in the Indian market. The range includes entry-level motorcycles, such as the HF 100, priced at Rs 55,450, while the brand’s range-topper – the Xpulse 200 4V is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand sells Splendor+, Passion XTEC, Glamor XTEC, HF 100, HF Deluxe, Super Splendor, Xtreme 200S, Pleasor, Desitini and many more.

Talking about the future plans of the company, it is also developing the new Xpulse model. Hero MotoCorp wants to grab a share of the 400 cc adventure touring motorbike market as other companies are also entering the segment. The company is gearing up to release the Hero Xpulse 400, which will have a front fairing inspired by the motorcycle used in the Dakar Rally. Hero Xpulse 400 will join the 400 cc adventure touring motorcycle race alongside the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure and other models. The company’s naked street fighter, the Extreme, is also being developed in a 400 cc variant. Hero Xtreme 400 will compete with BMW G310R, KTM Duke 390 and other motorcycles.
